Post-partum patients are given a bracelet and healthcare workers (such as emergency department staff) receive training on what steps to take if they encounter someone wearing a bracelet. The FindMyCareWNC - Interactive map for Transitions, Access, and Continuity of Care (ITACC) provides an overview of reproductive healthcare, substance use treatment, and related resources across the 18 westernmost counties of North Carolina. The objective of this platform is to provide communities with key information and tools that can enhance transitions, continuity, and access to healthcare services.

In 2025, MAHEC received a grant from the NC DHHS Office of Rural Health allowing us to purchase equipment and software that enables live, real-time participation by Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialists, located at the MAHEC Biltmore Campus, with patients receiving ultrasounds at our Brevard and Cullowhee offices.
By increasing access to MFM care for patients at the satellite offices, our goals for this project include:

The Reproductive Health Hotline (ReproHH) is a FREE, confidential, phone service offering evidence-based clinical information for healthcare providers across the nation who have questions related to sexual and reproductive health. ReproHH is staffed by University of California San Francisco (UCSF) physicians with specialized expertise in these clinical areas.
