Division of Program Evaluation

MAHEC’s Division of Program Evaluation is responsible for providing centralized planning, management, and oversight of program evaluation across MAHEC. Our role is to support the strategic goals of the organization by tracking data on sponsored programs.

Our division tracks program data to:

  1. Show progress toward strategic goals
  2. Make recommendations about current and future directions
  3. Make the case for future funding
  4. Disseminate the results of the projects

The Program Evaluation team works in concert with Principal Investigators and program leaders to tailor its data collection and reporting efforts to strategically meet the specific needs of each program.

Our Program Evaluators

Our team is comprised of Master’s-level professionals with experience in research, data sciences, public health, and health administration. Led by a Program Director with over 20 years of experience evaluating locally, state, and federally funded programs, as well as an Evaluation Scientist with a PhD in Health Behavior, our Monitoring & Evaluation Associates and Specialists are skilled at working with program leaders to monitor and evaluate sponsored programs.

Our skilled evaluators can:

  • Create logic models and determine the appropriate measures for each objective
  • Develop surveys, interview protocols, and other instruments for data collection
  • Work with IT to create data dashboards for real-time monitoring of data
  • Collect, analyze, visualize, and present results
  • Make evidence-based recommendations to improve program outcomes
  • Write reports for a variety of audiences to disseminate findings

Areas of focus include behavioral health, substance use disorders, maternal and child health, community health workers, and workforce development.

Community Collaboration

The Division of Program Evaluation welcomes engagement from external community partners who have sponsored programs with evaluation needs. We can work as consultants to devise an evaluation plan, create instruments, collect and analyze data, write reports, visualize data, and make recommendations for program improvement.
