Status: Actively recruiting MAHEC patients
Location: Biltmore Family Health Center and Enka/Candler Family Health Center
Age Group: 18-49 years old
Compensation: Gift cards, totaling up to $75

This study aims to help people with health conditions pick a birth control method that is right and safe for them. This study is in partnership with the University of Michigan.

Who can join this study?

  • You are a MAHEC patient at the Biltmore or Enka/Candler family health centers
  • You are 18-49 years old
  • You have at least one health condition or a prior pregnancy-related health condition
  • You are able to become pregnant
  • You are interested in changing birth control methods to prevent pregnancy

The SCOPE study aims to evaluate whether sublingual buprenorphine contributes to the onset, severity, and progression of oral disease in individuals with a history of opioid use disorder.

Who can join this study?

  • You are a MAHEC patient
  • You have a diagnosis of opioid use disorder and receive treatment (buprenorphine, methadone, or therapy) for OUD
  • You do not have, or have not had, cancer or HIV/AIDS
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
