The MAHEC Pre-Med Track Program is an opportunity for undergraduates to gain support around the medical school application process. Selected participants complete a free Princeton Review self-paced MCAT Preparation Course, receive personalized advising and personal statement review, attend presentations on UNC School of Medicine Admissions and Medical School Selection, participate in Mock Interviews, attend a medical school field trip, and have preferential consideration for one of MAHEC’s paid Clinical Summer Internships (subject to internship criteria and availability). Pre-Med Track programming runs through the academic year. This program aims to increase successful matriculation of Western North Carolina applicants to medical schools.
In addition, East Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine is offering students who complete the Pre-Med Track Program the opportunity to receive an automatic interview to their medical school if they are academically eligible.
Applicants may be selected for interviews after the application deadline. Interviews will be virtual and scheduled via the email provided on the application.
