We are very excited that you have entrusted us with your care. We provide Ob/Gyn services to women of all ages. Comprehensive care is provided by our physician team, with occasional back up provided by one of our Certified Nurse Midwives. We also offer medication injections, lab services and ultrasound services. Surgical services offered at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC and Angel in Franklin, NC. Labor and delivery services are at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.

Dr. Amelia Cline is a generalist Obstetrician and Gynecologist who joined MAHEC faculty after completing residency at MAHEC Ob/Gyn. She received her BSPH at UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. She attended medical school at UNC School of Medicine and completed her clerkship year in the longitudinal program at the Asheville Campus.
Dr. Cline enjoys practicing the full spectrum of obstetrics and gynecology and provides care in both MAHEC’s Franklin and Asheville locations. She has a special interest in rural medicine and is completing a 2-year rural fellowship through the MAHEC Rural Fellowship program. Outside of work, she loves Dolly Parton, cooking, and finding new swimming holes! She is thrilled to get to stay and continue to serve the women of WNC.

Christi Garrett Hunt, MD, was raised in St. Louis, Missouri, and developed a strong appreciation for Western North Carolina during her undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. After she and her husband, Jason—an Emergency Medicine physician—completed their medical training in the Midwest, they chose to return to WNC to build their careers and family life, raising their two girls in Asheville.
Dr. Hunt joins MAHEC following 25 years of a rewarding private practice in the Asheville community. She is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care in a smaller community setting and is especially passionate about supporting women through all stages of their reproductive and menopausal transitions. Known for her attentive listening and clear communication, Dr. Hunt values collaboration with patients and families to help them achieve their personal health goals.
She brings extensive experience in contraceptive counseling and management, menopausal care, in-office procedures, infertility treatment, obstetrical care, laparoscopic surgery, and a wide range of minor and major gynecologic surgical procedures. Dr. Hunt is excited to join the MAHEC team and looks forward to continuing her dedication to patient-centered women’s health.
