This course will provide care managers with foundational knowledge to better understand the service needs of children and adolescents and their families. The training will provide an overview of child and adolescent mental health and substance use issues, including indicators of risk and resilience. It will also examine mental health and substance use services provided to children and adolescents, including basic and enhanced services and residential treatment services. The content will emphasize the role of providers, communities, and systems of care in promoting child and adolescent well-being and healthy family systems.




Administrators and supervisors from advanced medical home+ (AMH+) and care management agencies (CMA) candidates who have applied and passed the desk review for Tailored Care Management, including physicians, nurses and various behavioral health substance use professionals
As part of the TCM Continuing Professional Development series, participants will:

Identify common indicators of risk and resilience when working with children and adolescents with mental health and substance use needs. |

Explore the ways in which systems of care can serve to support the well-being needs of children, adolescents, and their families. |

Discuss a broad understanding of common mental health and substance use issues that may impact child and adolescent well-being. |

Examine how different levels of services can be effective in addressing mental health and substance use challenges in children and adolescents. |
