Health Careers Summer Camp

MAHEC offers a one-of-a-kind, 4-day, 3-night summer camp experience for rural high school students (rising juniors, seniors, or class of 2026 seniors) who are interested in health careers. Students stay overnight in dorms at UNCA and participate in daily, hands-on, healthcare activities on UNCA and MAHEC’s campus in addition to a trip to the Adventure Center of Asheville’s ropes course. There is no cost for students to attend. Meals and snacks are provided.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Rising high school juniors and seniors from rural WNC
  • Strong desire to pursue a career in healthcare
  • Minimum weighted grade point average of 3.0
