Hi! My name is Innokentiy Krupnov. I was born in Russia and moved to US with my family at the age of 13. I’ve spent my entire youth and completed High School and Undergraduate Education in Brooklyn, NY. It was in Brooklyn where I first started working as a Medical Assistant for a gastroenterology group and began cultivating my interest in Medicine. From there on I went on to complete my pre-medical requirements and then attended St. George’s University School of Medicine on a beautiful island of Grenada. In Grenada I had a unique chance of shadowing a surgeon at a local hospital for a year, which essentially solidified my interest in surgery and from that point on I knew that surgery is what I really want to do when I graduate from medical school. I returned to do my clinicals back in New York and then applied for general surgery residency. I have completed my general surgery residency at HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in Miami, FL, in a program that was heavily influenced by trauma and surgical critical care, which essentially gave me an idea of what surgical specialty I envision myself in. I went on to apply to surgical critical care fellowship and was fortunate to land a position as a fellow in Surgical Critical Care program at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.
I came to visit the city and fell in love with it immediately. I am absolutely looking forward to this new chapter in my life and hope to contribute in any way I can to the medical faculty of Mission Hospital and the Surgical Critical Care faculty in particular.
