Advanced Vestibular Rehabilitation Concepts

This advanced in-person class is a combination of lectures and labs. It is intended for those healthcare professionals who treat persons with dizziness or vertigo, have basic vestibular rehabilitation education, and desire to improve their knowledge base and skills. This one-day class will do a deeper dive into benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), vestibular hypofunction, cervicogenic dizziness and persistent postural-perceptual dizziness (PPPD). Participants should dress comfortably for labs.
Target Audience
Audiologists, Occupational Therapists, and Physical Therapists who have a basic understanding of vestibular rehabilitation.
Objectives
Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:
- Differentiate between different types of BPPV and perform specific treatment to manage BPPV
- Utilize different testing to identify vestibular hypofunction and develop a treatment plan to manage it
- Describe cervicogenic dizziness and identify strategies to manage it
- Describe PPPD and identify strategies to manage it
