This ACLS - Skills Practice & Testing registration is for participants who completed Part 1 Online at the American Heart Association website. Bring your certificate of completion to your selected appointment time.

Students will practice the application of skills learned in the online portion of the class as both team leader and team member roles.

The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.

Target Audience

Physicians, Nurses, Pre-hospital Emergency Personnel, Respiratory Therapists, Dentists, and other professionals who may respond to a cardiovascular emergency

Objectives

  • Recognize early management of peri-arrest conditions that may result in cardiac arrest or complicate the resuscitation outcome
  • Initiate early management of peri-arrest conditions that may result in cardiac arrest or complicate the resuscitation outcome
  • Demonstrate proficiency in providing BLS care, including prioritizing chest compressions and integrating AED use
  • Manage cardiac arrest until the return of spontaneous circulation, transfer of care, or termination of resuscitation
  • Identify ischemic chest pain and treatment strategies
  • Expedite the care of patients with acute coronary syndromes
  • Recognize other life-threatening clinical situations, such as stroke and what effective initial care and transfer criteria are needed to reduce the chance of disability and death
