Join with other interdisciplinary team members to explore the PPOD+A (pharmacotherapy, podiatry, optometry/ophthalmology, dentistry + audiology) approach to care for people with diabetes. Join efforts in North Carolina to align with the Healthy People 2030 goal to reduce the burden of diabetes and improve quality of life for all people who have, or are at risk for, diabetes.
This educational event is available to attend on-site at MAHEC in Asheville, or via live webinar. (Note: If needed for health & safety reasons, this program may pivot to an all-virtual event.)

Advanced Practice Providers, Audiologists, Dental Healthcare Providers, Diabetic Educators, Dietitians, Nurses, Nursing Home Administrators; Occupational Therapists & Assistants; Optometrists, Pharmacists, Physicians (Endocrinologists, Family Medicine Physicians, Ophthalmologists, Podiatrists), Physical Therapists & Assistants and other interested healthcare providers
Objectives
Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:
- Explore the updates of the ADA 2023 Standards of Care for persons with diabetes.
- Enhance interprofessional team-based care of persons with diabetes
- Implement the PPOD+A approach to comprehensive diabetes management
- Align with the Healthy People 2030 goal to reduce the burden of diabetes and improve quality of life for all people who have, or are at risk for, diabetes
