Using Telehealth: Practice Support for COVID-19 Preparedness - Video Teleconferencing Series

Description

Telehealth in the setting of COVID-19 offers an essential solution for separating the sick and well. In this critical time, telehealth enables us to declutter waiting rooms, to provide ongoing monitoring for patients, and to reduce the exposure from ill persons with staff, other patients, and facilities. Telehealth is able not only to expand the reach of services to communities that have limited access, but also to minimize the exposure for both the health workers and patients who are at high risk for infection. Many clinics and medical offices already use these methods to triage and manage patients as part of usual practices. MAHEC is offering a free, region-wide ECHO (Extension in Community Healthcare Outcomes) to explore local ways to maximize the benefits of telehealth during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Discussion topics will include:
• Telehealth, Beyond the Basics
• Virtual Visit Options
• Billing by Payer
