Curriculum Structure
Residents training in the Rural and Tribal Health Track follow the same principles of graduated responsibility and competency-based training as our core program. They also benefit from the same supportive structure of the tandem-block schedule, which is outlined under our core program curriculum.
Over the course of three years, residents in the track spend over 50% of their time in rural or tribal health areas; the duration increases over time as noted below. Throughout the program, each resident has their continuity clinic weekly during non-inpatient blocks at Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority.
