The EBCI Tribal Option: A Tribal Approach to Care Management and Tribal Primary Care
Jul 29, 2025 Open Mental Health

Description
Medicaid Care Management Agencies (CMAs, AMH+ or AMHs) will have interactions with the EBCI Tribal Option, with the Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority (CIHA) as the assigned medical home or other tribal providers and programs when serving individuals. To be successful, it's critical that agencies understand the nuances of working with the first Indian Managed Care Entity (IMCE), the EBCI Tribal Option and individuals who may be members of any federally recognized tribe, those eligible for Indian Health Services (IHS) and tribal primary care practices. This session will provide an overview of the EBCI Tribal Option and practical recommendations for providing care management to tribal populations.
