Join others to observe the NC Falls Prevention Awareness Week (September 18-22, 2023) at this educational event! MAHEC, in collaboration with the Western NC Fall Prevention Coalition, will present this annual interprofessional falls prevention conference to address regional issues in safety, falls prevention and treatment. Participants can attend on-site at MAHEC Education in Asheville or via live webinar.

Target Audience

Upon conclusion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Identify risk and protective factors for falls
  • Discuss the impact of COVID/Long COVID on falls
  • Advocate to manage social isolation, health equity and DEI on falls
  • Discuss PACE programs and home-based primary care programs related to falls
  • Incorporate evidence-based programs for fall prevention into client/patient care
  • Demonstrate basic Tai Chi movements for fall prevention
