Age-Friendly: Caring for Older Patients
Open Allied Health Medicine Mental Health Nursing Pharmacy

Description
As the population of America becomes exponentially older, healthcare systems are looking for ways to improve care and safety of older adults. Age-Friendly Healthcare is a new movement in America that promotes best practices for older adults seeking medical care. To date, less than 20% of all healthcare systems have sought certification and specialized recognition in Age-Friendly Healthcare. Our conference is intending to educate providers about Age-Friendly Healthcare through providing interaction with those who have championed this approach in Western North Carolina. Our hope is that providers and nurses will gain knowledge about Age-Friendly Healthcare to increase the spread of best practices in geriatrics.
