Upon conclusion of this lecture/discussion-based educational activity, the participant will be able to:

• Related to HIPAA: Review basic privacy and security rules, uses and disclosures, the importance of obtaining consent; Discuss ways to protect your facility and equipment and avoid penalties
• Related to Radiation Safety: Discuss the NC Radiation Protection Act, steps of enforcement, safety program topics and define ALARA
• Related to OSHA: Cite OSHA updates, the Blood borne Pathogens Standard, infection control practices, EPA amalgam rule, and the new Hazard Communication Program; perform correct waste disposal and maintain proper employee records
