Join others on the dental team in this lecture/discussion-based class and learn the latest about Dental OSHA, HIPAA and Radiation Safety. This educational activity is available to attend on-site (limited seating at MAHEC) or by live webinar.

*Groups of attendees at host sites (health departments or offices ) in the MAHEC service region can attend together via live webinar. Each participant must register individually and list in the "brief comments" section of the online registration page the location of their host site.

Upon conclusion of this lecture/discussion-based educational activity, the participant will be able to:

check Related to HIPAA: Review basic privacy and security rules, uses and disclosures, the importance of obtaining consent; Discuss ways to protect your facility and equipment and avoid penalties
check Related to OSHA: Cite OSHA updates, the Blood borne Pathogens Standard, infection control practices, EPA amalgam rule, and the new Hazard Communication Program; perform correct waste disposal and maintain proper employee records
check Related to Radiation Safety: Discuss the NC Radiation Protection Act, steps of enforcement, safety program topics and define ALARA

Cancellation Policy

MAHEC has a pay-up-front policy for all CE programs. The only exceptions will be for pre-approved programs where an individual payment plan is appropriate. Registrations received without accompanying payment will not be processed and participants who have not paid the course fee will not be admitted into the program.

Unless otherwise noted in course materials, the following cancellation policy applies to all programs:

  • Cancellations must be in writing (fax, email, or mail).
  • Cancellations received more than two weeks prior to the event will receive 100% refund.
  • Cancellations received between two weeks and five full business days prior to the first day of the event are refunded at 70% of the registration fee subject to a minimum $25 cancellation fee.
  • No refunds or credits will be given for cancellations received less than five full business days prior to the event.
  • No vouchers will be issued in lieu of a refund.
  • Transfers/substitute(s) are welcome (please notify us in advance of the program).
