In the interest of keeping everyone as safe as possible during the Coronavirus outbreak, we will be postponing this event. Given the rapidly changing COVID-19 situation, we do not know at this point if we will be able to reschedule the conference but will be in touch as soon as we have more details.

High-consequence pathogens pose a challenge to the healthcare community when present. Recent history has proven that diseases such as Ebola, MERS COv, SARS, and now the Coronavirus require rapid and effective communications and planning for optimal response. This seminar is intended to increase awareness of key high-consequence pathogens and demonstrate some of the strategies that will be employed by healthcare workers to manage the diseases. Didactic sessions will describe the symptoms, significance, and considerations from patient entry into the healthcare system and throughout their hospital stay. Participants will take part in hands-on personal protective equipment selection, donning and doffing, and will have the opportunity to practice donning and doffing. Displays will be available that demonstrate options for packing the patient for transport, including draping and preparing the ambulance, using the Isopod, and evaluation of use of the ‘Burrito Wrap.' Subject matter experts from the National Ebola Training and Education Center, The Georgia Office of Emergency Medical Services, and state and local North Carolina emergency medical services will be presenting.

By registering for this conference, you are granting permission for your contact information to be shared with Mission Health, which is a joint provider of this continuing education activity.
