The WNC Healthcare Experience and Rural Training (HEART) internship is designed for undergraduates from rural communities in North Carolina who are rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors. This is a paid internship with weekly interactive trainings and a MAHEC-led project. Each summer, four students are placed in a rural primary care practice for one day per week where they participate in clinical shadowing activities.
WNC HEART interns will have the opportunity to network and interact with other student learner groups at MAHEC, including the MAHECxplorer and UNCA undergraduate interns.
