Now in its 27th year, the Pediatric Epilepsy Symposium is a result of a request to the Epilepsy Information Service by pediatric neurologists in the state to develop an educational program to update pediatric neurologists on new information relevant to the treatment of children with epilepsy.

Objectives
- Predict the development of specific types of epilepsy that develop following febrile status epilepticus by utilizing the most important EEG and imaging findings
- Identify recent advances and mechanisms of varied modalities of neurostimulation for epilepsy in children
- Explore the issues and concerns that are providing barriers to good patient care
- Improve patient care by exploring the intersection of a provider's experience with epilepsy and professional expertise
- Integrate the new terminology for previously known psychogenic non-epileptic seizures
- Assess EEG and MRI findings in order to refer candidates for genetic screening
- Present a case for group discussion and create a challenge for diagnosis and treatment
