The 2023 GME Collaborative Annual Meeting will focus on Finding Meaning in Medicine in beautiful Asheville, NC. Please join us for this premier professional development conference for NC's GME community. Key note speakers will address the conference theme and mentoring the current generation of residents. The sessions will range on topics from resident wellness to site visit preparation, launching of new programs, developing faculty and many more. We will kick off on Wednesday afternoon with preconference workshops to include a program coordinator boot camp or a gamified learning experience in MAHEC's state of the art simulation center.
The NC GME Collaborative was built upon the foundation of scholarly exchange. We would like to open the meeting to program coordinators to present on a topic of their choosing. If this is something you would like to consider, please click here to see more information and to submit your abstract.
Optional Pre-Conference* - Wednesday Oct 18th
3:00-5:00 | Track 1) Learning Objectives In Action: Immersive Simulation Experience – This preconference will encompass game-based simulation to develop educational objectives and incorporate immersive simulation techniques into current practices including learner engagement tools to enhance team dynamics in healthcare. Content will include how to evaluate participant performance and provide relevant feedback using established learning objectives during a high intensity blindfolded code scenario. Participants will also utilize escape room cues to develop and apply learning objectives to breakout before time runs out! |
3:00-5:00 | Track 2) Program Coordinator Boot Camp – As a pre-conference offering, we are excited to host a Program Coordinator Bootcamp, applicable to all GME Administrative Professionals. This advance programming will feature presentations from program coordinators and GME Office staff from institutions across North Carolina focusing on the topics of ACGME Site Visit Prep, Running effective PEC and CCC meetings, Program Coordinator Wellness, and Innovative Communication Techniques across the GME spectrum. The content will be broadly applicable and interactive in nature allowing for networking and learning best practices from peer administrative staff. Please plan to join this pre-conference and an extra afternoon/evening in beautiful Asheville, North Carolina! |
