Description
The pediatric trauma centers of North Carolina invite you to learn about pediatric trauma across the care continuum. Topics will cover prehospital and ED considerations, select penetrating, blunt and burn injury patterns, injury prevention topics, and a donor story.

Target Audience
This activity is designed for registered nurses, healthcare technicians (CNA/Paramedics), and respiratory therapists working in the emergency department, intensive care unit, operating room, pediatric ward and rehabilitation settings. Physicians, EMS (EMT-P, EMT-1), pharmacists, social workers, physical therapists and occupational therapists are also included as trauma care requires a multidisciplinary focus.
Objectives
- Discuss importance of pain control in pediatric trauma patients
- Identify radiologic findings of improperly restrained trauma patients
- Improve knowledge of basic burn care at a non-burn center
- Discuss current level of bullying/suicide in LGBTQ youth
