Live TCM Refresher: Perinatal Substance Exposure Education (PSEED) in Tailored Care Management

Description

July 1st, 2021 marked the start of NC Medicaid Transformation with the transition to Standard Care Plans. NC DHHS has begun the process of preparing for Tailored Care Management (TCM) to begin on December 1st, 2022. To prepare for this, DHHS has developed partnerships with North Carolina Area Health Education Center (NC AHEC) to provide practice support, technical assistance, and continuing professional development to help Tailored Care Management providers who have applied and passed the desk review in the transition to Tailored Care Management. The TCM Continuing Professional Development programs are designed to assist TCM candidates with evidenced-based practices in all treatment settings for the successful implementation of TCM.

This is a refresher course for those who have completed the Perinatal Substance Exposure Education (PSEED) training, a training geared for those professionals who will be providing educational support to pregnant and postpartum people with Opioid Use Disorders (OUD). The goal of this training is to strengthen the foundational knowledge and skills needed to implement the PSEED role on a team. This training will review the components of the perinatal system of care for pregnant and postpartum people with OUD, explore communication strategies across the perinatal system of care and, provide an update on evidence-based practice and legislative standards that may impact pregnant and parenting people that are impacted by substance use disorders.

MAHEC engages in evaluation activities to better understand the impact of our programs. By registering for this course, you agree that we may use your personal information in evaluative research regarding this program. Any reports published will be de-identified and reported in aggregate format.
