7th Annual Dr. Suzanne Landis Geriatric Summit - Medication Matters

Description

Join other healthcare providers and aging services providers at this annual geriatric educational event. The focus this year will be on one of the "4Ms": Medication (optimizing use to reduce harm and burden, focusing on medications affecting mobility, mentation, and what matters) of an Age-Friendly Health System.

This is planned to be a hybrid program—participants can attend on-site at MAHEC in Asheville, NC, or via live webinar. If needed for COVID-19 safety, this program may pivot to a live webinar-only format.

This project is supported by funds from the Bureau of Health Professions (BHPr), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) under grant number # 2U1QHP28734 Carolina Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program. This information or content and conclusions are those of the author and should not be construed as the official position or policy of, nor should any endorsements be inferred by the BHPr, HRSA, DHHS or the U.S. Government. The Center for Aging and Health, Carolina Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program also provided support for this activity.

This program was designed to satisfy, in part, the North Carolina Medical Board's CME requirement for controlled substance prescribers. Per NCAC rules: As of July 1, 2017 all physicians (other than residents), physician assistants, nurse practitioners, podiatrists, and dentists who prescribe controlled substances must satisfy the controlled-substance prescribing CE requirements as set forth by their licensing boards; requirements vary by discipline and board.
