Join us for a journal club discussion exploring the emerging role of generative artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots in supporting pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients with cancer.
Participants will review and discuss the pilot study, "Empowering pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients with cancer utilizing generative AI chatbots to reduce psychological burden and enhance treatment engagement" by Haesi, et al. Faciltiated by Ngan K.N. MacDonald.
This session will examine how AI-powered chatbots may help address psychological distress, improve access to information, and enhance patient engagement throughout the cancer treatment journey. Attendees will critically evaluate the study's findings, discuss potential benefits and limitations of chatbot use in oncology care, and consider implications for clinical practice, patient education, and future research.
