This workshop is interactive, designed as an introduction to basic concepts in the implementation of trauma-informed care when serving students in crisis. It focuses on trauma-informed approaches, while enhancing awareness of the effect and impact that trauma has on children in the classroom.
Participants will learn therapeutic approaches and strategies that allow children to rebuild a sense of control, empowerment, and mastery in their environment to create more successful learning experiences. It is anticipated that participants will leave the workshop with a deeper awareness of the prevalence and impact that trauma has on students, as well as practical strategies for ongoing trauma-informed care.
