Meet Our Staff

Dr. Suzanne Dixon

Dr. Suzanne Dixon is a generalist OBGYN on the faculty of the MAHEC OBGYN department. After graduating from Davidson College and medical school at UNC Chapel Hill, she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at MAHEC in Asheville in 2003.

As a generalist, she provides a full spectrum of office visits including annual wellness, prenatal care, and gynecological consultations for common problems such as disorders of menstruation, urinary incontinence, hormone therapy, contraception, fibroids and endometriosis. She performs gynecological surgery at Angel Medical Center and at Mission Hospital in Asheville. She enjoys teaching medical students and residents and sharing her enthusiasm for women's health promotion on a daily basis.

Dr. Dixon is committed to providing quality healthcare access to women in the most rural counties of Western North Carolina. She serves as a liaison between the leaders for women's healthcare in the state and our providers and patients in WNC.

Outside of work, Dr. Dixon enjoys spending time with her husband and almost grown daughters. She loves to cook and eat and hike around exploring our beautiful mountains. 


Dr. Amelia Cline

Dr. Amelia Cline is a generalist Obstetrician and Gynecologist who joined MAHEC faculty after completing residency at MAHEC Ob/Gyn. She received her BSPH at UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. She attended medical school at UNC School of Medicine and completed her clerkship year in the longitudinal program at the Asheville Campus.

She enjoys practicing the full spectrum of obstetrics and gynecology and provides care in both MAHEC’s Franklin and Asheville locations. She has a special interest in rural medicine and is completing a 2 year rural fellowship through the MAHEC Rural Fellowship program. Outside of work, she loves Dolly Parton, cooking, and finding new swimming holes! She is thrilled to get to stay and continue to serve the women of WNC.
