"Comparison of Direct and Indirect Supervision of Psychiatry Residents Impact on Patient Experienced Quality of Care"

This study aims to compare different methods of supervision used in the outpatient psychiatry setting, including cases that use telehealth, which has become more of the “new normal” during the COVID19 pandemic.

This study will be carried out in the outpatient clinic in the MAHEC Psychiatry department. The same patients will undergo both encounter types (direct/indirect) and afterwards will complete a short survey.

The purpose of this study is to improve resident training and collectively implement more focus on which type of supervision is being practiced, all while researching the patient’s perspective of care.
