Description
Hot Topics in Breastfeeding is a breastfeeding education series for local WIC agencies, health departments and healthcare provider office staff offered via Webex once a quarter. Each session will focus on a topic related to lactation management and care of the breastfeeding dyad. This series will be hosted by the Region 1 Lactation Training Center and will feature guest speakers on various topics.
An example of the topics to be covered include:
- The Impact of Trauma on Breastfeeding
- Perinatal Grief
- Role of Supplementation in Breastfeeding
- Respecting Cultural Differences
- Medications and Breastfeeding
- Substance Use Disorder
This activity is only being offered via Webex.
All program dates are streamed from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM EST.
One credit hour is earned for each session attended.

Local WIC Agency Staff, Health Department Staff, Healthcare Provider Office Staff, Nutritionists, Nurses & Mental Health Professionals
