Tubes and Wounds Simulation Workshop

Description

The Tubes and Wounds Simulation Workshop is an interactive 4.5 hour experience created to enhance the comfort level of nurses and nursing students with medical devices and wound management. In this class taught by a clinical expert, learners will get hand-on experience placing nasogastric (NG) tubes, inserting indwelling catheters, managing central lines and peripheral IV sites, programing IV and tube feeding pumps, suctioning and cleaning tracheostomies, staging pressure injuries, dressing simple wounds, and changing ostomy devices. The small size of this workshop will allow learners to get real-time feedback on their skills and one-on-one training from the instructor. Once a participant has finished this class, they will be better prepared to care for tubes and wounds in any healthcare setting.

This workshop will be offered quarterly.
