You are invited to attend the 4th annual Clinical Update for the Medical Assistant. This program is building momentum as today’s Medical Assistant is a key allied health professional that supports and enhances the work of physicians and other health care professionals within various clinical settings.
This conference offers a full day of eye-opening clinical information geared toward the Medical Assistants. This year, the Medical Assistant will have a hands-on experience in the SIM Center with observing and obtaining abnormal vital signs, participating in the room of horrors (What’s wrong with this patient's room?), reviewing anatomy on a virtual cadaver, reviewing sterile technique, having a discussion with a virtual difficult patient, and much more. The primary sessions will include a 2019 HIV Update, discussions related to the progression of dementia, as well as takeaway pearls of wisdom for maintaining a healthy psyche while working in today’s healthcare setting. This professional development program will prove to be engaging, practical, and evidence-based for all Medical Assistants.
This project is supported by funds from the Bureau of Health Professions (BHPr), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) under grant number # 2U1QHP28734 Carolina Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program.
