K-12 Health Careers

The Health Careers Education Awareness Programs are designed to increase awareness of education opportunities that will heighten knowledge of health careers and workforce diversity in the region by providing practical information to assist in guiding students in making informed decisions about careers in healthcare. This initiative is also designed to build linkages with the K-12 education communities. To meet these goals, we start recruiting in the early stages of education.

The Minority Medical Mentoring Program (MMMP) is accepting applications for the 2017-18 academic school year. This opportunity is designed for under-represented minority high school seniors enrolled in Asheville City and Buncombe County schools that participate in school-sanctioned internships. Candidates should have interest in the pursuit of a high-level health career. Students apply in their junior year of high school.
